I noticed in our news feeds a soaring forum entry that had the following link:

During sailplane races at the World Air Games they show a real-time, 3-d view of all the competitors. There is an announcer and a commentator. They zoom into the map and around the course commenting on progress and likely strategies.
For example, today, US competitor Chip Garner flew through the finish line in about 4th place, but below the window. Big controversy as he then climbed back up on the other side and came back around and went through the window again. The commentators were not sure how the judges would respond as this may not have occurred in Gran Prix racing before.
It sure made sailplane racing interesting.
