Default Directional Gyro Failure

Paul Carmel added this entry to the XOG website on 4Jul2009:

My DG blew a fuse in the panel, I replaced the fuse which did not blow. The unit stayed off, showing the "orange flag" in the lower right.

Is there an internal fuse, that I should check?

There's no name on the dial, and it appears to be original equipment.

Thanks,

Paul Carmel

Default Fix May Be Possible

Horst Stratmann Reported the following on 6 Jul 2009:

Hi Paul,

I had the same failure in 2002 and I send the unit to:

Kelly Manufacturing Co.
555 s. Topeka,
Wichita, Ka. 67202
Tel: 316-265-6868

Although my ship was build in 1998 they still repaired it under warranty.

The manufacturer is R.C. Allen Instruments, also in Wichita.

Cheers
